Messner Family Photos

I met Joel last December at a youth group Christmas party, he had gauges, likes loud music, is somewhat of a Bible nerd, and loves to laugh. Needless to say, we became friends pretty fast. Over the last year Joel and I have been able to hang out together a lot, whether counseling high schoolers at summer camp or when he was a groomsmen in the wedding I shot last May. But for his family photos at the Riparian Preserve in Gilbert, it was the first time I really got to interact with his wife, Robyn, and his two sons. It was great to see how much they all love each other and the fun that they have as a family together. As you can tell from the candid nature of some of the pictures, the boys have a lot of energy and it was fun to see them explore nature, jump off of rocks, and hang from trees, like all boys should do. In the end, I think the energy and the fun of the family really came through in the photos.
